How to really stop the Java exipration pop-up

how-tojavapowershell

No more java expired symbol

Have you see this pop-up? In a corporate environment it's like getting your users to play Russian roulette. Oracle lists all kinds of deployment properties in a staggering table of information but somehow none of it seems to work. I think most of my pain was because I was working with Java 7u65 for which I eventually found a bug report buried in the bowls of Google searching. I also eventually created a powershell script to set reg keys, copy deployment.properties files, launch and kill the javacpl in my opinion not very pretty. I think the script would have worked but when it was almost done I found the holy grail of Java expiration blocking.

javaws -userConfig deployment.expiration.check.enabled false

One beautiful line of code....

In my particular case I was getting this pop-up the first time you opened IE in a freshly deployed image. I added a runonce local group policy since it's a kiosk image. Best practice would be to use it something like this "%programfiles(x86)%\java\jre7\bin\javaws -userConfig deployment.expiration.check.enabled false "

Have fun and good luck
